Beware of appraisal & domain scams!

A. Always be careful buying and selling names. Many domain owners receive emails with people "interested in the domain". These emails are a scam. After you respond with an asking price, you will be asked to buy an appraisal.  His intention is not to buy your name, but make you buy an appraisal. These emails usually come from @toughguy.net email address. Another newer scam is an "interested party" asking you to pay for an domain ownership confirmation. Even if they are willing to pay for half of it, it's still a scam. Best thing to do it just delete the email or if you think it might be an real offer than ask the interested party to pay for the appraisal. If buying a domain, you should check the whois to confirm ownership. Use escrow for higher value sales.
Use your best instinct and if it's too good to be true than it probably is.
